Participants must pick up their race package on the 13th or the 14th of July. For further information click here.
The race starts in Landmannalaugar, on Saturday, July 15th 2023 at 9:00 am and ends in Husadalur in Thorsmork. Click here for information about how to get there.
For security reasons, all participants must wear the race number at all times above their waistline and in front.
There are five start groups and the colour of a runner's race number indicates the start group. This is done to prevent congestion at the start of the race and to ensure that minimal time elapses before runners cross the start line. By doing this, we hope to improve the accuracy of finish times and to reduce congestion both at the beginning of the race where the path is narrow and also at the refreshment stations along the course.

Participants who sign up for the race bus have to be outside The ice rink in Laugardalur at the following tames based on their start group:
04:30 Participants in the yellow pace group leave
04:30 Participants in the red pace group start leave
04:30 Participants in the green pace group leave

06:30 Breakfast stop in Hrauneyjar for 30 minutes yellow, red and green group
07:00 Breakfast stop in Hrauneyjar for 30 minutes blue and pink group

Landmannalaugar security check:
All participants must wear their race number on their front side and at waist height or higher. When entering your colour group line up you will be asked to show your whistle, space blanket and mobile phone with the emergency number 112 saved.

Alftavatn and Emstrur cut-off time:
Those participants that do not leave the drinking station by the Alftavatn cabin within the 4 hours time limit and do not leave the drinking station by the Emstrur cabin within the 6 hours and 30 minutes time limit will not be allowed to continue the race and will be driven back to Reykjavik. There will be a 2-3 hour wait at Alftavatn/Emstrur before leaving to Reykjavík with a few hour stop in Hvolsvollur as well. See further information here.

After finishing the race, runners that have bought a seat on the race bus to Reykjavik should show up by the buses between 17:30 and 21:00. The first bus will depart when it is full and then the next one and so on. The last bus will leave at 21:00.
