All runners that finish the race will receive a prize medal.

First three male and female finishers will receive special prizes and also winners in age groups and team competition. See further information about the prizes below.

  • First man and woman in each age group will receive shoes from Hoka and a cap from 66° North
  • First three runners, men and women, in each age group will receive a trophy.
  • The first teams in each type of teams in the team competition will receive a trophy.


Winners of the Laugavegur Ultra Marathon will receive a unique prize trophy this year, designed by Bjarni Sigurdsson ceramic artist. Bjarni graduated from the Aarhus Academy of Arts in the year 2000 after four years of ceramic studies. Each of his work is unique. Bjarni works a lot with simple, pure forms and powerful glazes. All of his glazes are made by himself. His work often reflects the Icelandic nature and some of his pieces contain ash from the 2010 eruption in Eyjafjallajokull volcano. First three male and female finishers will receive a prize trophy as well as first three runners in each age group and the first teams in each type of teams in the team competition.

The Laugavegur Ultra Marathon is organized by Reykjavik Sports Union, a union of sports clubs in Reykjavik. Other events organized by the Reykjavik Sports Union are: Íslandsbanki Reykjavik Marathon in August, Suzuki Midnight Sun Run in June, Reykjavik International Games in January and the Northern Lights Run in February.
