The Laugavegur Ultra Marathon was held on Saturday the 15th of July in great conditions. 579 runners took off in Landmannalaugar and made their way over to Húsadalur. It was warm and a good tailwind most of the way. Andrea Kolbeinsdóttir impressively won the women's category for the second year in a row, and she also improved the race track record in the women's category for the second time in a row with the time 04:22:56. Arnar Pétursson won the men's category for the second year in a row with the time 04:00:48, and he improved his own best time by 4 minutes which is a great achievement.
There was a great turnout of spectators and they supported the impressive runners along the way. Participants, guests and race planners all agreed that this years race was a great success.
